Union Hospital Foundation Information

The Union Hospital Foundation was started in 1987 and it became very active in 1989 when a full-time director was hired. The Union Hospital Foundation has actively encouraged area residents to contribute to remodeling projects to suit the current needs of the hospital. One of the most dramatic changes, at a cost of over $100,000.00, was the relocation of the Nurses Station in 1994-1995. This has allowed for better patient care through enhanced visibility and accomodation for modern technology, allowing increased confidentiality of the patient record. In 1986, the Union Hospital Foundation funded a covered driveway in the front of the building at a cost of over $50,000.00.

The Foundation is directed by a Board of Directors and is a separate corporation with its sole purpose to support Union Hospital projects. Logistics and some management of the Foundation is supplied by the Administration and management of Union Hospital Society.

Union Hospital Foundation is raising money to help physician recruitment, update equipment which includes remodeling Central Supply, and will be involved in fundraising for a new clinic addition. This year's fundraisers include a golf tourney, You Light Up My Life, and the New Year's Eve Gala.
