In 1998, Union Hospital celebrated its Centennial. The society was formed by a group of ladies from the community and surrounding area and was incorporated on April 14, 1898.

Many activities occurred during the year with the highlight of activities being on April 14, 1998. On May 16th, 1998 a luncheon was held for all of the present and past employees of the hospital along with a special program of recognition to honor the doctors that have served the institution over the years. There was a public all-faith service followed by a picnic at Island Park on July 12th, 1998 starting at 10:30 am. Events concluded with the annual Harvest Ball in November 1998.
