OUR MISSION
The mission of Union Hospital is to provide or arrange for high quality, comprehensive health care services for the population that the hospital serves. Its goal is that of improving the health and well-being of that population, within the limits of available resources.
In light of the broad social responsibility for maintaining and restoring the health of all members of the population we serve, the functions of Union Hospital are:
- Care of the sick and injured
- Education of all persons involved in the health care delivery system.
- Public health prevention of disease and promotion of health.
- Advancement and provision of appropriate services through a systematic process.

Union Hospital is a primary care Critical Access Hospital presently licensed for 25 acute beds and is staffed for 18 beds. 10 of these beds, in the acute care section, are designated for swing bed (short term) patients. Other departments of the hospital include Nursing Service, Clinical Laboratory, Radiology, Surgery, a Certified Level V Emergency Room, Central Supply, Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Respiratory Therapy, as well as the usual support services. We have outreach services in Home Health Care, WIC, and counseling services through contract. We also participate in an outreach program for CPR instruction in the local high schools and some public education. C.N.A. classes are held four times per year at Union Hospital.

Other services utilizing Union Hospital are: AA counseling, Beltone Hearing Aid Service, SE Human Service Center, and Mammography.
